Boston Marathon Final Preparations
4/11- Sharpening Workout: Today was my last workout before the race. This is the third time that I have done this workout preceding a marathon and I find it very enjoyable. It starts with a 2-mile warm-up, then 4x1200m @ T pace with a 400m recovery jog between each. It ends with a nice relaxing 2-mile cool-down. The 1200s usually end up getting closer to 10k pace but I am okay with that. My goal was to be between 4:18 and 4:20, but more importantly to be relaxed and comfortable. The splits went 4:17, 4:15, 4:15, 4:11. I am happy. I feel fit, recovered and injury-free. 3 more easy runs totalling 15 miles over the next four days. After that I am going to do 26.2 miles @ GMP.
